Inside Third-Party Peptide Testing: HPLC, Mass Spec, and Why Independence Matters

Laboratory technician checking a genetic analyzer instrument

Every credible research peptide supplier claims testing. The differentiator is who performs it and what instruments answer which questions. This is a walk through the process our own batches undergo.

Question One: Is It the Right Molecule?

Mass spectrometry answers identity. The instrument ionizes the sample and measures mass-to-charge ratios with extraordinary precision; the result is compared against the theoretical mass of the target sequence. A clean match confirms the molecule; any significant deviation fails the batch outright.

Question Two: How Much of It Is There?

High-performance liquid chromatography answers purity — covered in depth in our HPLC explainer. The two instruments answer different questions, which is why a proper Certificate of Analysis reports both.

Why Independence Is Non-Negotiable

In-house testing has an unavoidable conflict: the party selling the material grades its own work. Independent laboratories have no stake in the result — their instruments, calibration, and reporting stand apart from the supplier. That separation is what makes a COA evidence rather than advertising.

Our Standard

Every Pristine Aminos batch goes to an independent laboratory for identity and purity verification before release — documentation lives on our Testing page and ships with every order.
