A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is the documentation that accompanies a research peptide and verifies what’s actually in the vial. A complete COA generally includes the peptide’s identity, its measured purity, the analytical methods used, and a lot number tying the document to a specific production batch.
The two core tests are HPLC, which measures purity, and mass spectrometry, which confirms the molecular weight and therefore the identity of the sequence. Together they answer two questions: is this the right peptide, and how pure is it?
For reproducible research, a COA should be lot-specific and independently verified rather than generic. Pristine Aminos provides third-party COAs for every product so researchers can document the provenance of their materials.
